Explorer Post 1329

First African American Explorers Group in Texas Parks & Wildlife

We are proud to be the first African American Explorer Post in Texas Parks & Wildlife Organization. We love to helping minorities and other students ages 13-17 become exposed to sailing and explore career opportunities in maritime.

We Travel

Sea Scout Base Galveston is an extraordinary classroom that provides hands-on opportunities for youth to learn and build character through challenging, rewarding, and hands-on experiences.

This program was created by Charles and Rosemary Doolin. Sea Scout Base Galveston offers programs for Sea Scouts, including kayaking, small and large boat sailing, and power boating. Marine and maritime education and internships for all ages are conducted aboard  110-foot, two-story floating classroom called the BaySmart Express.
